Baylor Scott & White Health Corporate Compliance Consultant - Hospital Billing & Third Party in Dallas, Texas

JOB SUMMARY

Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) is committed to the operation of an effective compliance program. The Corporate Compliance Consultant works under the direction of the Compliance Vice President and or Director to perform ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to BSWH policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Identify suitable projects for audits and coordinate audit schedules with relevant personnel.

  • Conduct audits, monitoring, and investigations to ensure compliance with BSWH policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local laws.

  • Prepare written audit and investigation reports, highlighting risks and recommending actions to improve effectiveness and mitigate risks.

  • Obtain corrective action plans for identified deficiencies and ensure their effective implementation.

  • Track audit findings and survey audited personnel to evaluate audit satisfaction and effectiveness.

  • Provide and coordinate education and training for compliance initiatives.

  • Serve as a compliance resource for BSWH departments and entities on basic compliance matters.

  • Perform ongoing compliance activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of third-party vendors and joint venture relationships, ensuring consistency with BSWH policies and compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

  • Conduct annual risk assessments for joint venture partners and third-party vendors, and develop and implement annual work plans addressing service-specific risks.

  • Develop and maintain a joint venture quarterly reporting tool to evaluate compliance program outcomes and effectiveness, and follow up on reported concerns to ensure effective corrective actions.

  • Develop metrics and dashboard reporting for compliance program outcomes related to joint ventures and third-party vendors.

  • Collaborate with the Vendor Management Office to provide compliance metrics for monthly reporting.

  • Maintain documentation for incident reviews, resolutions, and appropriate corrective actions.

  • Exercises good judgment, attention to detail, integrity, dependability and objectivity. Possesses strong analytical skills.

  • Demonstrates professional growth by obtaining continuing education and seeking certifications.

  • Demonstrates initiative by learning business processes and applicable auditing techniques.

  • HCCA Certification Preferred.

  • Develop and maintain policies for third-party vendors as needed.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

· Demonstrates excellent written and oral communicate skills based on level of expertise.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

  • EXPERIENCE - 1 Year of Experience
