Baylor Scott & White Health Director of Workforce Planning in Dallas, Texas

Job Summary:

This role leads the development and execution of comprehensive workforce planning strategies across the Baylor Scott & White system. This individual possesses a strong understanding of workforce dynamics, business operations, and resource management. They work closely with business leaders to understand and forecast headcount needs that support short- and long-term business plans for a large, complex healthcare system to ensure the organization’s workforce aligns with its strategic goals and operational needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing effective workforce strategies in a large organization. This person will be pro-active in working with business leaders at all levels of the organization and manage key partnerships with external resources where needed. This person must be able to lead cross-functional teams including finance, facilities, human resources, and senior internal stakeholders. The role reports to VP of Workforce Planning & Talent Journey.

Essential Functions of the Role:

• Develop and implement a holistic workforce planning strategy that aligns with the organization's long-term goals, including a digital transformation strategy to support enterprise-level workforce planning.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to translate the organization's strategic workforce strategy into actionable plans and initiatives.

• Lead the analysis of current workforce trends, including demographic shifts, skill gaps, and succession planning, to anticipate future workforce needs and challenges.

• Creation of short, mid, and long-range headcount and recruitment forecasting mechanisms using internal and external data and historical trends.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to workforce planning, headcount cost and governance, and related initiatives.

• Gather input, influence, and lead senior stakeholders across the Baylor Scott & White Health System through the definition and adoption of workforce planning processes.

• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements, leveraging this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement within workforce planning processes.

• Lead creation of business case for new digital tooling and transformations needed to meet workforce planning goals.

• Create and lead appropriate digital transformation programs with emphasis on stakeholder alignment and change management.

• Lead and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.

Key Success Factors:

• Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful workforce planning strategies within a complex organizational setting

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends to make informed workforce decisions

• Proven experience driving alignment with senior stakeholders, through influence, on complex initiatives

• Proficiency in project management, process optimization, and change management

• Experience leading large digital and process transformation programs, including vendor analysis and selection, program planning, change management, and adoption assurance

• Experience in managing operational budgets, resource allocation, and financial planning

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's

  • EXPERIENCE - Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in workforce planning, resource management, operations, or related fields, with at least 4 years in a leadership capacity
